The recent case of crime case has reported in a district in Assam where an FIR has been filed against the Superintendent of Police (SP) under the POCSO Act for sexual harassment of the minor daughter of another police officer. Sources in the case told on Sunday that the Superintendent of Police had given a party to celebrate the New Year on December 31, in which a senior female police officer arrived with her daughter.
Further, he told that the IPS officer allegedly sexually harassed the teenager in his official residence room by getting intoxicated. A police source in the matter also said that, "The teenager's mother, a senior officer in the Assam Police Service, went with her daughter and lodged a complaint at the Women's Police Station and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POSCO) Act. A case was registered in this regard on January 3.
The girl's statement has been filed in this case, but it is not known whether the Superintendent of Police has been questioned. When contacted, the Guwahati Police Joint Commissioner Debraj Upadhyay said that "he is not in a position to respond to this" as he is busy guarding the ongoing Twenty-Twenty matches between India and Sri Lanka. 'By the way, you must have heard such cases even earlier, which have been surprising.
