Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh's Jewar police on Tuesday registered an FIR against a man named Aamir Khan. According to the report, the youth is accused of posting a morphed picture of UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Facebook. Aamir Khan has been booked under sections of IPC and information technology act, 2008.

According to media reports, the case has been revealed after the morphed picture posted by Aamir Khan on Facebook went viral. One of the complainants informed the UP Police through his Twitter account. After this, the police took cognizance and started an investigation. Soon after, this FIR has been lodged against Aamir Khan. According to the report, Aamir Khan, a resident of Dayanatpur village in Jewar, had posted a photo on his Facebook account depicting CM Yogi and BSP supremo Mayawati as the bride and groom. The morphed image also had an objectionable caption written on it.  

The complainant was informed about the post on Twitter and requested the UP Police to take appropriate action against the accused at the earliest. An investigation was launched on the basis of the tweet and an FIR under the IT Act was registered against Aamir Khan after the police authenticated the information.
