New Delhi: Another major fire broke out in Delhi. The ICU ward of Safdarjung Hospital caught fire in the morning, today. As the incident was reported around 60 patients were shifted to other wards and 10 fire engines were reported in service to douse the flames.
According to reports, no casualty has been reported till now. The fire broke out on the first floor of the hospital. The blazing fire is in control by the firefighters. The fire department officials said that the cooling operation is currently underway. The incident happened around 6.35 am, a fire call was received at the ICU ward. The officials have yet not ascertained the reason behind the fire. However, it is estimated that an electrical short circuit may the reason.
Safdarjung Hospital is a multi-specialty hospital and is a three-storeyed block. It is the largest Centre-run hospital in the country in terms of bed strength.
