A massive fire broke out at a building in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi on Monday. This incident took place at Kalher village in Bhiwandi. Three fire tenders including two from Bhiwandi and one from Thane were rushed to the spot and efforts are on to control the fire. News agency ANI reported that the fire broke out before opening hours in the otherwise busy market which minimized the risk to life. It is suspected, however, that a large number of goods may have been destroyed in the part of the building here where the fire broke out.

Located in south Mumbai, this is a favorite shopping destination for locals and is the city's largest wholesale market. The fire broke out at around 6 am in the morning. No casualties have been reported so far. Fire tenders have been pressed into action. The area is being evacuated and rescue operation is on.

Earlier, on 20 April, at 7:00 am there was a fire in a chemical company located in Dombivli's MIDC. It took 2 hours for the fire brigade to get the situation in control. However, there were no casualties reported. The chemical factory was in Manpada and the incident is therefore reported at Manpada police station. Notably, the surrounding area has been engulfed by thick black smoke.
