Dehradun: The fire in the forest areas of Uttarakhand has intensified due to the rising heat wave. The fire broke out in a forest in the village of Alukhet in Nainital this afternoon. The Fire department vehicle arrived at the spot to control the blaze.

The fire was reported by local people to the forest department. The personnel rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire. The fire was under control late in the night after a stiff effort. In Uttarkashi district, forests are also being pushed. The forest department and the officials of the SDRF are engaged in extinguishing the fire but the fire is finding it very difficult to overcome due to strong winds.

According to the information, there are about 82 hectares of forest burns in 116 incidents of fire so far in the district, as per departmental officials. There was also a scorching heat on Monday. In Dharasu region, the highest temperature was recorded at 41.8 °c, while the district headquarters, Dunda, Ganagapur, Byrnigadad, etc., were 32 degrees Celsius.
