Chicago: At least 11 people were seriously injured in a shootout in Chicago Tuesday evening amid funeral. They have been admitted to the hospital. The firing took place between 7.30 pm(Local Time). According to police, the incident happened in the 1000 block of West 79th Street. Police said that a person has been taken into custody, but after investigation, police can accuse him of the incident. Until then the arrested person will be interrogated.

Police have not yet given the reason behind this incident. Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Longford says a total of 11 people were admitted to the hospital by the fire department. Other, people, have been admitted to various hospitals. Many people are seriously injured.

Chicago Police Deputy Superintendent Eric Carter said that people who were in the SUV passing by opened fire on a single person outside the crematorium. One has been detained in the issue. Local residents Arnita Geder and Kenneth Hughes have said that they were watching TV when the sound of firing came and when they got out they saw people injured. Geder said, "We thought there was a fight."
