Gurdaspur: You will be surprised to hear something about the love affair at Batala in Gurdaspur district bordering Pakistan. In fact, the girl's family attacked the boy's family here. The quarrel in the case became so heated that the firing started. Four persons from the boy's side were killed on the spot while two other youths were injured in the firing. The injured are said to have been referred first to Batala Civil Hospital and then to Amritsar.

Four bodies have been kept in Marchari for postmortem. Police have also reportedly reached as soon as they came to know about it. The incident is said to have taken place today. The love birds of village Ballarwal fled the house in the incident but they both returned later. While, the family members of the angry girl attacked the family members of the boy working in the field and chased them away and shot them with pistols and killed four members of the same family.

Meanwhile, two youths were also seriously injured in the firing. The injured were first admitted to civil hospital Batala for treatment but doctors referred them to Amritsar in view of their critical condition. Police from Thana Ghuman rushed to the spot and initiated action and police are still investigating the case.
