Mumbai: As soon as the approval of the Government of India is received, the work of extending the Covid Vaccine to the people has already begun. The first consignment of CoviShield vaccine from Pune has reached the Indira Gandhi International Airport today. Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep S Puri recently said, "Today (Tuesday) Air India, SpiceJet and Indigo Airlines will fly 9 flights from Pune to Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Shillong, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chandigarh with 56.5 lakh doses. '

Hardeep S Puri tweeted on Twitter, "the Spice and GoAir have been sent from Pune to Delhi and Chennai." The COVID19 vaccine ' CoviShield ' manufactured at the Serum Institute is being sent from Pune airport to various places in the country for the 16th January vaccine rollout. Talking about the COVID19 vaccine distribution process, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan said, "5.56 lakh vaccine doses have been sent from Pune. We will receive the vaccine at around 10.30 pm today. However, details of the remaining 20,000 doses of COVAXIN have not yet been received. Once it comes to the vaccine centre of the state, we will be convinced that everything is fine. The vaccine will be distributed by evening when it comes here. Later, it will be transported to the actual vaccination site by placing it in cold boxes. '

In this regard, Dr Patel, additional director, Gujarat government Family Welfare said, "The first consignment of COVID19 vaccine is going to reach Ahmedabad today. The 2.76 lakh doses will be given to Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar areas. Vaccination will commence from 16th January to 287 session sites. '
