Bengaluru: The state's first plasma bank has been opened in HCG Hospital in partnership with the Government of Karnataka, HCG Hospital, and Covid India Campaign. In the presence of Dr. K.M. Sudhakar and MP Tejashwi Surya, Deputy CM Dr. CN Ashwathnarayan has inaugurated it on Tuesday. Since then, 3 people who have beaten Corona have donated plasma.

Plasma therapy is proving effective in the treatment of corona infections. People who have recovered from Corona can donate their plasma and play an important role in giving life to others. However, the opening of the bank will speed up the treatment of serious corona patients.

Dr. Vishal Rao, Regional Director and Oral Cancer Pathologist of HCG Global has said that there are 4 to 5 plasma banks in India. The first bank initiative was in Delhi, the capital of the country. People who are healthy with corona develop an antibody that is able to fight against corona infection. Patients are treated by removing these antibodies from the blood. Results of plasma therapy in clinical trials have been encouraging which is effective. Especially for serious corona patients. He has appealed to more and more of humanity as a corona to come forward for plasma donation. A total of 15 people have donated plasma so far. 9 patients have undergone plasma therapy. The other 20 people who have recovered from Corona have registered for charity.
