New Delhi: In a landmark operation, the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Army have successfully carried out their first-ever para-drop of the Aarogya Maitri Health Cube at an altitude of approximately 15,000 feet, the Ministry of Defence announced on Saturday.
This innovative trauma care solution, known as the Aarogya Maitri Health Cube, was developed under Project BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita and Maitri). The mission aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to delivering essential aid to areas affected by Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations.
Utilizing the advanced C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, the IAF executed the precise airlift and drop of the cube. Meanwhile, the Indian Army’s Para Brigade, recognized for its tactical proficiency, managed the successful deployment with state-of-the-art precision drop technology.
This operation underscored the effectiveness of military assets in supporting HADR missions in challenging and remote terrains. It also demonstrated the seamless coordination between the IAF and Indian Army in providing swift and effective humanitarian aid.
The Aarogya Maitri project focuses on supplying critical medical resources to developing countries facing natural disasters or humanitarian emergencies. The Aid Cube is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence and data analytics, to enhance disaster response and medical support. It ensures real-time monitoring and efficient management of medical services during crises.
The success of the BHISHM Cube operation highlights the vital role of mobile hospital units in delivering prompt and effective medical care during emergencies.
