New Delhi: According to the data released by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), the fiscal deficit has reached Rs 4.32 lakh crore in the June quarter. The fiscal deficit shows the difference between the income and expenditure of the government. According to a news agency report, the union government had projected the fiscal deficit in the current fiscal to be 3.4 per cent of GDP in the current fiscal.

The central government predicts that the fiscal loss in 2019-20 may be Rs 7.03 lakh. This is the same as the financial year of the Government. According to CAG data, the government's revenue receipts in the April-June quarter of 2019-20 have been 14.4 per cent of the budget. It was similar to 15.5 per cent of the annual figure at the same time a year ago.

In absolutely, the revenue receipts were Rs 2.84 lakh crore in the quarter ended June 2019. On the other hand, the Budget has estimated revenue revenue to be Rs 19.77 lakh crore in the current financial year 2019-20. According to the CAG, capital expenditure in the first quarter of the current fiscal has been 18.8 per cent of the budgetary estimate.

This was 29 per cent of the budgetary estimate in the same period a year ago. The government's total expenditure during April-June has been Rs 7.21 lakh crore, which is 25.9 per cent of the budgetary estimate. The total expenditure of the government in the current financial year 2019-20 is estimated at Rs 27.84 crore.
