The Group of Ministers on internet gambling, casinos, and racetracks, which includes officials from eight states, will meet tomorrow morning to discuss the increase in GST on online gaming, racetracks, and casinos, according to sources.

The Fitment Committee will deliver their recommendations on whether GST on online gaming should be charged on contest entrance fees or total gaming revenue on Wednesday. The GoM will then make a final decision, which will be presented to the 47th GST council.

Early this week, the Fitment committee, which is made up of officers from various states, convened to compile a report on the increase in GST on online gambling, racetracks, and casinos.

"Last week's meeting of a group of ministers produced a clear consensus. We are awaiting the committee's decision on whether the 28% GST would be applied to gross or net value "a source close to the development said.

In May of last year, the government established a panel of state ministers to improve the assessment of casino, online gaming site, and racetrack services in order to tax GST. The GoM met early this month, led by Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma, to consider the applicable GST rate on these three services.
