Telangana: Rachakonda police have arrested five African nationals from New Delhi on charges of extorting money from the public.

According to police, the main accused, along with his friends, Edgel Gift Osas, P. Ehizitor Daniels, Nky Confidence David, and P. Arrived in India on visa. He has passports from Ghana, Liberia and Nigeria.

Police have registered fraud and invoice terms under the IT Act against the accused. During the investigation, based on the technical and electronic evidence, the accused were sent to New Delhi.

According to police, in November 2020, a woman named Sophia Alex approached one of the Godtime victims in pursuit. Launched voice calls and chatting on WhatsApp. Sofia Alex said that she is from Australia but lives in the UK with her daughter and plans to move to Hyderabad soon.

Police said he told the victim one day about coming to Mumbai. The victim soon received a call from another woman who introduced herself as a customs officer at the Mumbai airport. The victim transferred a total of Rs 4.83 lakh by falling into the trap. When she found out she had been cheated, she contacted the Rachkonda Cyber Crime Police.
