New Delhi: The Air Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) on Thursday said that it has constituted a 5-member committee to investigate the circumstances related to the plane crash at Kozhikode airport in Kerala. This committee will submit its report in 5 months. The board said in a statement in this regard, the investigation in-charge will complete its investigation and submit the report to AAIB within 5 months from the date of this order. Captain SS Chahar, a former B737 NG (Aircraft) examiner, will be in charge of the investigation. 4 other investigators will assist them.

Meanwhile, Air India Express on Thursday said that with the help of US-based company Kenyon International, it has so far recovered 298 pieces of passengers' luggage from the crash site on the Kozhikode aircraft floor. After the identification and verification of the recovered items, they will be handed over to the passengers. Also, the airline said that 92 passengers injured in the accident have fully recovered and they have been discharged from hospitals.

Earlier on Saturday, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had said that 149 people injured in the aeroplane incident were admitted to different hospitals. Of these, 23 were discharged and 3 are in critical condition. On the other hand, 2 major unions of Air India pilots have sought an appointment with Puri to discuss the working conditions and flight safety.
