New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, at least five pilots of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) which is the national flag carrier of the nation did not even passed class tenth.

As per the country’s aviation committee five PIA pilots not even have matriculation certificate. It reported the Supreme Court after finding the academic credentials of seven pilots false.

Justice Ijazul Ahsan stated a non-matric person could not even drive a bus but these people were flying planes, putting the lives of passengers in more risk, as Dawn news reported. Reports suggested that  at least 50 Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees have been suspended for not furnishing their documents, the three-judge bench of the top court asserted.

Seven PIA pilots were found to be counterfeiting their academic credentials out of which five did not even have a high school certificate. The Supreme Court (SC) bench which is headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, on Friday heard a matter relating to the verification of degrees of pilots and other staff of the PIA, when the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) exposed this before the bench. The CAA also complained to apex court that educational boards and universities were not cooperating with it in carrying out the degree verification process.

The Pakistan International Airlines has been vibrating in losses for years but successive governments have failed to get better its financial condition.
