On Tuesday, Walmart-owned company Flipkart said that it would use fully electric vehicles by 2030 under environment-friendly development. For which the company is associated with EV100, the global electric vehicle initiative of 'Climate Group'. EV 100 brings those companies on one platform, which is working to speed up the adoption of electric vehicles. Along with this, by 2030, electric transport is making a new trend.

Flipkart chief Mahesh Pratap Singh told PTI-Language that "Under this commitment and long-term adoption of EV, the company will convert all its vehicles into electric vehicles by 2030. This includes the company's own or leased Vehicles are included. He further said, "This will be done by providing provisions in service contracts, infrastructural facilities related to charging in about 1,400 premises related to supply arrangements, awareness function and delivery workers for the use of EV vehicles."

In June last year, Flipkart had said that it would convert 40 percent of its e-cart delivery vans to electric-vehicles by March 2020. The company operates it on a pilot basis in Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Singh said, "We have seen a lot of attraction in this case in the last 12 months. We currently have EVs in 4-5 cities. They are being run on a pilot basis. We have 8 to 10 times more EVs on roads this time than a year ago".
