Lucknow: Rivers are flowing above the level due to incessant rains in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, the impact of incessant rains in Uttarakhand is also beginning to show. The threat of floods is continuously increasing in 16 districts of UP. The continuous rise in water levels in rivers has raised concerns of the administration.
In view of the flood threat, CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered deployment of 42 teams of NDRF, SDRF and PAC for search and rescue in flood affected districts. With this, 222 flood posts have also been set up. The 16 districts where flood threat is there include Bahraich, Balrampur, Gorakhpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Pilibhit, Shravasti, Sitapur, Siddharthnagar, Bijnor, Deoria, Basti, Gonda, Ballia, Mau. Officials of all these 16 districts have been instructed to keep preparations for the floods. A notification has also been issued in this regard.
As a precaution, 26 boats, 58 medical teams have also been deployed in flood affected areas. In fact, Uttarakhand and Nepal have been receiving continuous rain for the past few days. Poorvanchal UP is also receiving a shower of calamity.
