Patna: A sudden flood caused by heavy rains in neighboring country Nepal and Bihar has killed 56 people so far in Bihar. In the floods, 69.41 lakh population of 13 out of 38 districts has been affected. CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday conducted an aerial survey of various areas of the flood affected Darbhanga Pramandal and gave necessary instructions to the officials.
Things are very horrible in Purnia district. Water has flooded many villages here, but people's trouble has increased. There are still many areas submerged.
56 dead in 13 districts:
Flood-hit state of 13 districts- Kishanganj, Araria, Purnia, Katihar, most of East Champaran, West Champaran, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Supaul and Madhepura.
2 lakh 48 thousand 140 people were taken to safe place:
Due to floods, 98 block and 1070 panchayats of these 13 districts have been affected and a total of 69.41 lakh population has been affected. It is being done at the war-footing by the state government to remove the people in the flood. So far 2 lakh 48 thousand 140 people have been evacuated from the affected area and 93 thousand 149 people have been sheltered in 343 relief camps.
