New Delhi: For the first time in the history of Delhi Metro, an integrated 'flyover-cum-metro viaduct structure' is being constructed. The structure is being carried out in association with PWD on Majlis Park-Maujpur corridor of Phase-IV near Surghat in north-east Delhi. This is a big step in itself where road flyovers, as well as metro viaducts, will be kept. This means metro viaducts will be placed on one side of the website, while the other side will be used for the movement of trains.
The PWD flyover and underpass for trains will be part of the proposed elevated road parallel to the Yamuna river as well as the Ring Road between Wazirabad Flyover (Signature Bridge) and Ring Road near D&D. As a first of its kind engineering miracles, integrated portals will be built on which road flyovers, as well as metro viaducts, will be placed. Metro viaducts will be placed on one side of the website, while the other side will be used for PWD flyovers for the movement of trains.
The road flyovers and metro viaducts are 450 m. (Approximately) will run parallel to each other. On average, 26 m wide and 10 m A total of 21 websites with height will be built. In addition, underpasses will also be constructed for trains under these portals which will cater to the movement of trains coming from the outer ring roadside.
