The unique superstitions of footballers participating in the World Cup are astonishing. For example, someone believes that 'Lucky things' will help in winning. For some, it is their lucky blue underwear and for some, it is their perfume. Whereas some are trying to win to be successful through dieting and hard work and someone considers perfume to be lucky. 

The superstitious belief in sportspersons and coaches is such that they want to try every way to be successful. Colombian goalkeeper René Higuita believes that wearing a blue underwear will help him to win, then German striker Mario Gomez uses the left-handed toilette before the match. Gomez's fellow player Julian Drozcoller puts them perfume before the big match.

Sports psychologist Dan Abrahams said, "Every player has a rule before the match. Generally, there is no concern with their performance but players feel like this." Some players like Phil Jones of England do not like to walk on the white line while Brazilian Defender Marshallow always plays the right step on the pitch. 

Morocco's Harv Rennard wears white shirts so that they got success in the African Cup of Nations but not in the World Cup. Before the match of the 1998 World Cup team in France, the goalkeeper's bald head was considered lucky and Defender Laurent Blanc had given a kiss on the head before every match.
