New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has broken his silence on the matter after PM Narendra Modi got a clean chit from the Supreme Court in the Zakia Jafri case related to the Gujarat riots. During an interaction with the media, Amit Shah has said that for so many years, PM Narendra Modi drank poison like Lord Shankar. Amit Shah said that PM Modi endured for 19 years without saying anything.   

Referring to PM Modi, the Home Minister said that such a big leader of the country, without saying a word, kept fighting all the sorrows by taking them around the neck like the poison of Lord Shiva and today when the truth has finally come out shining like gold, it will be a joy. Amit Shah further said that I have seen PM Modi suffering this pain very closely and even after everything is true.   Because the justice process was going on, we will not say anything, only a strong-minded man could walk on this stand. Shah said that after a long period of 19 years, the Supreme Court bench has dismissed all the charges.   

On Friday, the Supreme Court had dismissed a petition filed against the SIT report that gave a clean chit to then CM Narendra Modi in the 2002 Gujarat riots. The petition was filed by Zakia Jafri. The court had dismissed Zakia's plea while upholding the SIT's inquiry report. Zakia Jafri is the wife of former Congress MP Ahsan Jafri who was killed in the riots. The SIT report had given a clean chit to those holding high positions in the state.
