Bhopal: Congress candidate from Bhopal Digvijaya SIngh on Tuesday attacked on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and said that Bharat Mata holds no meaning for them.

Taking to Twitter, Singh wrote that for people belonging to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Sangh is everything for them and Bharat Mata holds no meaning. He wrote, "The remarks made against martyr Hemant Karkare show that for Sangh people, the RSS is everything and Bharat Mata holds no meaning. Whoever speaks against the wishes of the Sangh is a traitor. For the Sangh, even India's martyrs are shaitan if they don't like them. We have not taken the oath of the Sangh, but of the Constitution. We are bhakts of Bharat Mata,"

Former Madhya Pradesh CM  further hit out at the BJP and tweeted: "New India was not built in last 5 years. Frm economy to institutions, nuclear to space power, best Army to great scientists, agricultural super power to IT power, all ws done before u came! We did it without fomenting hate, by treating all as equal! Respect those who built India (sic)."

Digvijaya’s comments attacks BJP’s Bhopal candidate and 2008 Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya, who had made controversial remarks against late Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare. He was martyred during the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
