Before going to Mathura, Krishna had promised his Radha that he would come back to him, but he did not return to him. After the visit of Shri Srikrishna, the King of Vidarbha State, Rajeshwar, came to know that Radha was his daughter Rukhmani and that she had gone and took her daughter Radha with her. Krishna and Rukhmani were not married and Krishna had to be married by expropriation of Rukhmani. So you may have understood that Rukhmani and Radha were the same but they are mentioned in different ways.
