New Delhi: Business magazine Forbes released a list of 100 wealthy Indian moneylenders in 2021. According to it, the total wealth of these 100 rich has reached a record $775 billion (approximately Rs 58.06 lakh crores). Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani tops the list with assets worth about $92.7 billion (about Rs 6.89 lakh crores).

According to the list, which came in the latest issue of Forbes Asia, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani is second on the list with a net worth of $74.8 billion (approximately Rs 5.6 lakh crores). The report praises India for having faced the second wave of the corona epidemic well, boosting investor confidence in India, the world's sixth-largest economy. The Sensex at the BSE benchmark in the stock market strengthened 52 per cent from a year ago. Due to this, the wealth of 100 rich people of the country has reached record levels. In the last 12 months, their wealth has increased by 50 per cent, or about $257 billion, to $775 billion.

According to the report, about 20 per cent of the increase is due to Gautam Adani alone, whose assets have tripled to $74.8 billion (approximately Rs 5.6 lakh crores) in a year. He continues to be number two in this list of rich for the third year. Mukesh Ambani has consistently been ranked first in this since 2008.  HCL Radhakrishna Damani is ranked third in the list with assets worth about $31 billion and Radhakrishna Damani with a property worth $29.4 billion. Cyrus Poonawala is ranked fifth, Laxmi Mittal sixth, Savitri Jindal seventh, Uday Kotak eighth, Pallonji Mistry ninth and Kumar Mangalam Birla 10th in the list.
