Forget IPL get ready for ‘Kerala Boat Race League’

 

As we know that the Indian Premier League (IPL) has changed cricketing scene around the world and it continues to leave its impact not only on the cricketing field but it has also inspired emergence of league competitions for various other sports like Pro Kabaddi League, Premier Badminton League etc in India.

In Kerala, on the similar pattern of IPL, a model boat race will be held which will include the Nehru Trophy boat race at Punnamada Kayal in Alappuzha to the President's Trophy boat race in Kollam. The Kerala Tourism Department has given an approval to the IPL model boat race.

Sources of Times Now reported that the well-known boat race has been launched as ‘Kerala Boat Race League’. It will be orgnized from 11th of August to 1st of November this year. The decision of organizing boat race on IPL model was taken in a meeting held by the Kerala state tourism minister.

 Worth mention here The Nehru Trophy boat race will be considered as the qualifier for the Kerala Boat Race League and the league competitions will carry on its basis. There will be 12 matches held in the league. The best nine snake boat performers from the Nehru Trophy will be chosen for the race.
