Visakhapatnam: Former Andhra Pradesh Speaker K Shiv Prasad Rao has committed suicide by hanging himself. After the incident, he was rushed to a hospital in Hyderabad in an unconscious state where he died during treatment. According to the information received, Shiv Prasad Rao was in depression for a long time, due to which he took this suicidal step.

It is noteworthy that Kodela Shivprasad Rao was a physician by profession. Shiv Prasadrao has also been the first Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. His family member has told that, Shiva Prasad went to his room after having breakfast and did not come down. When the family arrived to call him, they saw that he was hanging from the ceiling fan. After which his family members rushed him to the hospital.

Kodela stepped into politics in 1983, when NT Rama Rao founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The family of the former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly accused the YSR Congress of stealing furniture from the Assembly. After which his family was granted bail. But it is being told that he was very tense about this, probably because of this he has taken this suicidal step.
