Former Delhi CM Madan Lal Khurana Dies at 82

Former Delhi Chief Minister and former Rajasthan Governor Madan Lal Khurana died on Saturday. He was suffering from many diseases for a long time. He took his last breath at his residence at Kirti Nagar in the capital, Delhi, at 11 pm last night.

Madan Lal Khurana, former Delhi Chief Minister and veteran BJP leader, was born on 15 October 1936 in Faisalabad, Pakistan. He was among the Delhi's most respected and powerful leaders. Madan Lal remains the Chief Minister of Delhi from 1993 to 1996, for 2 years and 96 days. In 2004, he was also the Governor of Rajasthan, and later he resigned from this post. However, in 2005, he had come into controversy after criticizing LK Advani and for this reason he was expelled from the party by the BJP.

Considering the popularity of Madan Lal Khurana in the public, he was taken back to the party on September 12, 2005. But in 2006 he again got separated from BJP and also made the distance from  active politics. The body of Madan Lal Khurana will be kept for the last glimpse in the BJP’s Delhi-based party headquarters 14 Pandit Pant Marg at 12 o'clock today.
