While the death toll from another corona is increasing across the country, on the one hand, the news of death is continuously coming in the political field as well. On the 30th of March, former Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Surendra Sirsat died after a long illness. Family sources gave this information on Tuesday.

As for this, he said that 74-year-old Sirsat had been ill for a long time and was admitted to a private hospital in Mapusa town on Saturday. It has been learned that he died in the hospital on Sunday evening. Sirsat was an MLA from Maharashtra Gomantak Party (MGP) thrice - in the years 1977, 1989, and 1994. He was the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly from the year 1990 to 1991.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Samvat has mourned his death. Sawant tweeted, "Saddened by the demise of Surendra Sirsat Ji, former Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly. He has a big contribution to education and public life, which is always remembered. My condolences to the bereaved family".
