Lucknow: A video of the former commissioner and Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation chief Mohammad Iftikharuddin was seen in the majlis of mullahs related to Islamic conversion at his official residence. The Yogi government had then constituted an SIT to look into the matter. Now investigations have revealed that former IAS officer Iftikharuddin has committed Islamic conversion in more than 8 districts. The SIT in the case have also got a lot of evidence.

Now, people are waiting for the government's action in this matter, because the inquiry report has been submitted to the State Government. The Yogi government had constituted a two-member SIT headed by Director General CBCID GL Meena and membership of ADG Zone Bhanu Bhaskar after the video of Islamic Takrir went viral at the official residence. SIT has received 80 such videos of Mohammad Iftikharuddin and 7 books promoting conversion spelt out by him have also been recovered. In one case, he was accused of pressurising the CTS settlers to convert to Islamic conversion, threatening to implicate people in legal actions if he did not become Muslim. It is now learnt that he converted people to Islam in a village in Sachendi in Kanpur. He has also spread his network in the districts of western UP. Iftikharuddin was also active in districts like Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar. SIT has learnt of several such Islamic conversions by Mohammad Iftikharuddin.

Surprisingly, Iftikharuddin has confessed to his actions and SIT's interrogation has said that he has no regrets about what he has done. He has also justified religious fanaticism, from inflammatory literature and Islamic conversions. Now, people are asking why action is not being taken against him even after so many revelations have been made.
