Lucknow: Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Amitabh Thakur on Saturday said he will contest against CM Yogi Adityanath in the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Tell us that Thakur, an IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, was retired prematurely. Thakur said in a statement issued on Saturday that he will contest the upcoming assembly elections against CM Yogi Adityanath.

He further said, "CM Yogi did all the undemocratic, chaotic, oppressive, oppressive and discriminatory work during his tenure, he will contest against CM Yogi against him, no matter where Adityanath contests." Thakur further said that it is a battle of principles for him in which he will express his opposition against wrong. He was given compulsory retirement on 23rd March in compliance with the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

An order of the Union Home Ministry said Thakur had been "not found fit to retain him for the rest of his tenure of service." Therefore, Amitabh Thakur is being given premature retirement with immediate effect before his service is completed in the public interest.
