Former Maharashtra minister Shankarrao Kolhe passed away, Fadnavis-Sharad Pawar expressed grief

Pune: Former Maharashtra minister Shankarrao Kolhe passed away in Nashik on Wednesday due to age-related ailments. His family sources reported this. Kolhe was 94 years old. He served as the Minister of Agriculture, Cooperation, Revenue and Transport between 1989 and 1993. He was the founder of a cooperative sugar factory and Sanjeevani Group.

At the same time, Kolhe also worked in all the major committees of the state government. He was honoured by PM Narendra Modi at Vasantdada Chinese Institute in 2017 for his contribution to the cooperative sector. Kolhe is survived by his wife and three sons. Nationalist┬аCongress Party Chief Sharad Pawar condoles the demise of Kolhe. He tweeted that Kolhe made a huge contribution to the Chinese region through his experiences by travelling around the world.

Devendra Fadnavis has also expressed grief over the demise of the same Shankarrao Kolhe, he tweeted, "Senior cooperative leader and former minister Shankarrao Kolhe's contribution in the field of cooperative education is invaluable. He very subtly raised the water issue. He set up a network of educational institutions for quality education in rural areas. The news of his death is sad.''
