The former Mayor of Maidan Shahr, Zarifa Ghafari in the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan's Maidan Wardak province, has returned to the nation. Ghafari told the media on Sunday that she couldn't resist returning to Afghanistan because of the deteriorating humanitarian situation.

She said that she would make every effort to assist the people and that she would do it without regard for political considerations. According to media reports, the former mayor, who received the International Women of Courage (IWOC) award, announced her return to the country on Twitter. Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani appointed Ghafari as Mayor of Maidan Wardak in 2018. She has held a variety of government positions.

"I came here to help — and, if I'm good in establishing trust between Afghans and the international world," she added. She added that she is not expecting any government position. "I have no expectation of being offered a post in government or politics," she said. The former mayor asked Afghan leaders to sit down for talks and work out their differences through negotiation.

"They should sit next to one other. They're all there. Right, left, good, and evil, republicans, communists, and (Islamic) Emirate members — discuss and apply your logic, and stop widowing Afghan women "she said. Ghafari has returned to Afghanistan, and hundreds of female activists have been detained in recent weeks.
