Vijayawada: TDP veteran and former MP N Shiva Prasad died on Saturday at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. The former MP was undergoing treatment for kidney-related diseases in the hospital. TDP leader N. Siva Prasad was born on 11 July 1951 in a village in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Siva Prasad received his MBBS degree from SV Medical College, Tirupati.

Before joining politics, Siva Prasad was a well-known figure in the theater and film world. He acted in many dramas and also acted in films. After acting in films, he also directed many films. In 1999, he contested the assembly elections in which he won. After winning the election he was also given the post of minister. He contested from Chittoor Lok Sabha seat in 2009 and 2014 and won. However, he had to face defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Former MP N Siva Prasad used to visit the Parliament in different costumes, besides spreading social awareness. Let me tell you that for the last ten days, he was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. They were placed on a life support system. On Friday, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu visited several of his party MPs to meet him at the hospital.
