The 63-year-old former mayor of Mumbai experienced a heart arrest on Tuesday. For the final viewing, his mortal remains would be kept at Raje Sambhaji Vidyalaya in Santacruz East. The funeral procession will thereafter depart for Teachers Colony Bandra Crematorium, according to the officials.
Sanjay Raut, a Rajya Sabha member for the Shiv Sena (UBT), offered his condolences on Tuesday and referred to the late mayor of Mumbai as "Loyal Shiv Sainik, a great teacher, a knowledgeable corporator with knowledge of teachers' questions." My humble tribute to him!".
Zeeshan Siddique, the president of the Mumbai Youth Congress, also sent his condolences.
"Extremely heartbroken to learn of the passing of Shri Vishwanath Mahadeshwar ji, the former mayor of Mumbai. I send my deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones during this trying time," he tweeted.
From 2017 to 2019, Vishwanath Mahadeshwar served as the mayor of Mumbai and presided over the Standing Committee.
Vishwanath Mahadeshwar was a Shiv Sena Politician from Mumbai, Maharashtra. Besides serving as the Mayor of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, he had also served as chairman of the civic education committee and was a member of the standing committee.
