On Tuesday, Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) supremo HD Devegowda took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the BJP's charge that coalition government are "Majboor" governments and the BJP wants a "Majboot" government in states, similar to that of the central government. Often PM Modi has dubbed the grand alliance as "grand race" by his opponents to become the prime minister. Modi mocks the idea of Mahagatbandhan but they themselves are running coalition governments in many states. We will answer BJP by winning this election," HD Devegowda said.

This statement of Devgowda is a straightforward tone on Narendra Modi who has been calling the Maha coalition a “Maha Milavat”. PM Modi is constantly trying to tell the weakness of the alliance with public meetings. Earlier, during a public meeting in Bihar, he said that this is a bond of corruption and scandals. This bond is the bond of negativity. There is a bond of instability and inequality. Last year, after the Assembly elections, while the BJP could manage only 104 seats, the Congress secured 42 and JDS got 42. Though no party manages to cross the majority mark of 113, the Congress and JDS formed a post-poll alliance to keep the saffron party out of power.
