Colombo: Former Sri Lankan fast bowler Nuwan Zoysa has been found guilty of corruption-related activities in cricket. On giving information on Thursday 19 November, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has said that the charges against Zoysa have been found to be true and he has been found guilty of the violation of ICC's Anti Corruption Code.

He has been convicted of 3 charges in an ongoing hearing against Zoysa in the independent tribunal, after which the suspension will continue on him and he may face a severe sentence. Zoysa, who has played more than 100 international matches for Sri Lanka, was suspended in November 2018, just 2 years ago on corruption charges. During this time he was charged with 3 charges, on which Zoysa had demanded a hearing from the independent tribunal. In this hearing, the three charges against him were found to be true.

According to the ICC press release, former Sri Lankan bowling coach Zoysa was facing serious allegations ranging from affecting the outcome of the match, his position to inciting players to indulge in corrupt activities, all these allegations were found to be true in the hearing.
