New Delhi: Balakrishna Naik, former National Vice President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and senior pracharak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), died at the age of 78. There is a wave of mourning in organizations related to the Sangh Parivar on his death. 78-year-old Balakrishna Naik breathed his last at 11.30 pm on Wednesday night at Kushinagar, the Maha-Nirvana site of Mahatma Buddha.

Vinod Bansal has told that the VHP leader's funeral will be performed in his hometown Aurangabad on Friday. He was suffering from Asthma disease for the past many years, even then he continued to promote Hindutva in the country and abroad. Vinod Bansal, the national spokesperson of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, told the media that Balakrishna became a Naik Sangh pracharak after completing his engineering studies at Stanford University, USA. After this, he joined the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in 1974. He spent 23 years of his life promoting RSS in Bengal.

Balakrishna Naik tried to unite the saints of all faiths. He was the head of the coordination forum set up to unite the saints for 15 years. Balakrishna was also the Joint General Secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Central Vice President.
