CHENNAI: Ex-AIADMK MLA Kovai Selvaraj joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Wednesday and met party president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin.

Speaking to the media persons after the meeting at the party headquarters, Kovai  Selvaraj said that the former government led by Edappadi K. Palaniswami had generated mayhem in Tamil Nadu and wrecked the state as if a tsunami had lashed it. He mentioned that he was asking for forgiveness from people for having spoken in favor of Palaniswami earlier.

Selvaraj said that Stalin's democratic and social justice-focused administration was serving the interests of the people and undoing the harm caused by the previous administration. He asserted that in order to overcome caste- and religion-based politics, the genuine AIADMK cadres had to accept Stalin's leadership.

Selvaraj further expressed his gratitude to the DMK leadership for giving him the chance to serve the party once more.
O. Panneerselvam's close friend Selvaraj has actively supported the former chief minister during his campaigns.
He had recently left the AIADMK and had since expressed his vehement opposition to OPS and EPS.

The former MLA also criticised the AIADMK leaders for Jayalalitha's improper treatment and the fact that she was not taken abroad for better care.
