NEW DELHI: Ex-President Shri Ram Nath Kovind today, September 16, unveild a book titled "Ambedkar and Modi: Reformer's Ideas, Performer's Implementation" in New Delhi in presence of Union Minister I&B Anurag Thakur, MoS Dr L. Murugan and former Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan.
Speaking at the book's launch, the former president said that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's multifaceted beliefs and contributions to the country are collected in this book. This book provides an ideological framework and reliable knowledge on these crucial topics, whether it be industrial development, labour rights, self-reliance, the development of power and water resources, intelligent city planning, education, or gender equality, said Kovind.
The book was put together by the Bluekraft Digital Foundation, and Ilaiyaraaja, a Rajya Sabha member and musician, wrote the foreword. The book not only outlines Ambedkar's vision for India in its 12 chapters --which cover topics as diverse as infrastructure, education, socioeconomic mobility, gender equality, and self-reliance--but also takes into consideration some of the accomplishments of Modi and his administration.
The former President praised Baba Saheb during the book's introduction, saying that in addition to creating our constitution, he made significant contributions to the nation's banking, electrification, labour management, revenue-sharing system, and educational systems.
"25 images in this book convey the unwavering affection and admiration that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has for Baba Saheb. The PM is arguably the only political figure in the nation to have planned the Samvidhan Gaurav Yatra during the inaugural Heerak Janti Varsh following the adoption of the constitution. He referred to the incident from 2010, when he served as Gujarat's chief minister.
Baba Saheb always placed a strong emphasis on urban development because he believed that urban areas needed to be modernised in order to modify people's lifestyles while also reducing the strain that an expanding population was placing on agricultural land. He also frequently referred to the waterways as the route for the development that the Narendra Modi administration is known for. The Baba Saheb vision has been carried out by the Modi government "Kovind said.
The vision of Baba Saheb has been passed along by PM with the utmost significance to the Jal Jeevan Mission. He continued, "It is an evidence in and of itself of how the Modi government has connected the vision of Baba Saheb to the regular people."
The former President concluded, "I would want to emphasise that this book is a testimonial that PM Modi is a sincere follower of Baba Ambedkar.
"Many people were involved in the task of gathering votes and creating sculptures in Dr. Ambedkar's honour. However, if anyone is putting his vision for the underprivileged class' upliftment into practise on the ground, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi "Anurag Thakur, a union minister, mentioned the book in his remarks.
The Union minister went on to say that Dr. Ambedkar had always thought that the underprivileged community will be liberated through industrial development. And presently, action is being done in that direction under the PM Modi government, whether it be through Make in India, Self-Reliant India, other PIL initiatives.
We can said with pride that, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the India of Baba Saheb's ambitions is now striding confidently among the superpowers of the globe, he added.
