Chennai: A catastrophic accident occurred in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. 4 engineering students sitting on railway tracks were hit by a high-speed train. In fact, in Ravuthur Pirivu in Coimbatore district, engineering students were drinking alcohol while sitting on the rail tracks. Meanwhile, a high-speed train arrived and students were hit by it.

Four students died in this accident while one student was injured. This accident happened when the students sitting on the track hit the Alleppey-Chennai Express train late Wednesday night at around 10.30 pm and 4 students were killed in a catastrophic death. The loco pilot informed his top officials about the accident. After which the railway police reached the spot, saw that the bodies of the students were lying deformed on the railway track.

The dead have been identified as Siddiq Raja of Kodaikanal, Rajashekhar of Nilakottai in Dindigul and Karuppasamy and Gautama of Rajapalayam in Virudhunagar district. According to the police, Siddique was a student of BE final year and Rajasekhar third year. Both were studying in a private engineering college in Sulur. Karuppasamy and Gautam came to give the exam. Whereas Vignesh, a resident of Theni, is marginally injured in this accident.
