A shooting at a Chicago shopping centre crowded with last-minute holiday shoppers injured four people. Shots were fired inside the Oakbrook Center shopping mall about 5.45 p.m. on Thursday, according to media reports, when two men exchanged gunfire in a corridor area on the mall's east end.

Three bystanders were also injured, and one of the guys was brought into prison. According to officials, all of the gunshot victims had non-life threatening injuries. Two persons have been arrested, and police are looking into the potential of a third suspect.

According to local media, police presence at the retail complex has risen following a recent looting event.
