Jammu and Kashmir:A day after a ferocious gun battle between security forces and militants in hilly state Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian, fresh round of firings was reported on Saturday morning here, in which 4 terrorists have been gunned down, apart from one killed on Friday. According to the reports the firing was heard in Killora village where security forces had exchanged fire with militants on Friday as well. As per the leading news agency ANI tweeted, one of the terrorists shot dead on Friday night has been recognized as a Lashkar-eTaiba terrorist called Umar Malik. An AK-47 was found from here.

Security forces continue with search operations in the area to wash out any left terrorists in the area.

Worth mention here this week has seen a number of gunbattles between security personnel and terrorists held, in which two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorists were killed in an encounter after they fired upon security forces in the Kupwara district on Thursday.

An INSAS rifle, which snatched earlier this week from a policeman in the Kupwara district of north Kashmir, was found from the terrorists, who were affiliated to the proscribed terror outfit HM (Hizbul Mujahideen). Both the terrorists were involved in a number of attacks on security establishments and civilian atrocities in the area. Besides an INSAS rifle, an AK-47, was snatched from a policeman in Kandahar area of Kupwara on Tuesday, was found from the slain terrorists.
