Tamil Nadu:  Four workers were killed and eight others were injured in a fire at a fireworks unit in a town near Tamil Nadu on Saturday, according to authorities.

“A big fire has erupted in a firecracker manufacturing business near Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar district. Four people have died so far, and five more have been injured” official information read. Meghnath Reddy, the District Collector, has released this information. According to reports in the media, the fire began as a result of an industrial explosion. The incident occurred near Sivakasi in the district's Mettupatti village.

According to early information, a fire broke out on the grounds of a fireworks production plant, killing four individuals and injuring eight others, according to a police officer here.

The unit is located in a village about 30 kilometres from here, and an investigation is underway to determine the reason for the disaster, he said, adding that the fireworks manufacturing plant appeared to be permitted.
