Paris: The fifth wave of the global epidemic coronavirus has begun in France. The country's Health Minister Olivier Veran said this has created new concerns for those who expected the epidemic to end. In an interview with a local television channel, the minister confirmed that the fifth wave of the epidemic has started in his country as in many other neighbouring countries. 'Many neighbouring countries are already facing the fifth wave of the corona epidemic, what we are experiencing in France clearly looks like the beginning of the fifth wave,' Veran added. France's health ministry on Wednesday registered 11,883 new corona cases. The number of new cases remains above 10,000 for the second day in a row. Infection cases have been steadily increasing since mid-October. Earlier, President Emmanuel Macron had also said that the country may once again see a surge in corona infection cases.
Earlier this week, President Macron said that people aged 65 and over need to be more careful. They must show evidence of a booster dose of corona vaccine before going to restaurants, participating in cultural events or catching a train. 'From December 15, you (people over the age of 65) will have to show a booster dose certificate to increase the validity of your health pass,' Macron said in his address to the country.
