France gives confidence to India, says, 'There will be no delay in delivery of Rafael'

New Delhi: Fears of delays on the supply of Rafale fighter jets purchased to strengthen and modernize the Indian Air Force have been sidelined by the French government. French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lennen has said that the deadline given to the Government of India for the supply of these fighter jets will be strictly adhered to.

The manufacturing plant of Rafale's manufacturer Dassaw was closed at the end of March, due to which it was feared that the next shipment of fighter jets to India could be delayed. At the end of March, the coronavirus infection spread rapidly in France and the number of infected in the country reached close to 1 lakh in a few days, while the number of dead also crossed 10 thousand in late March and early April. . Due to this, lockdown was implemented in the country.

In the month of May, there has been a great decrease in the number of infections and dead in the country. So far, 1.45 lakh people have been infected with this virus in the country, while 28,330 people have lost their lives. Speaking to the media, the French ambassador stated that, "The contractual supply deadline set for the supply of Rafale jets has so far been strictly adhered to and recently a jet was handed over to the Indian Airforce in France at the end of April."
