President of France, Emmanuel Macron will begin his four-day India visit accompanied by his wife, Brigitte Marie-Claude Macron, and a delegation of businessmen and ministry officials from March 9 to 12.

 The visit of President Macron is aimed at strengthening the bilateral economic, political and strategic dimensions.

  1. The France President’s India-visit is also aimed at forming not only strong manufacturing and Technology Corporation but also greater people to people engagements especially through greater exchanges of students and researchers.
  2. India-France ties marks the most important and comprehensive bilateral engagements with intense of frequently high-level exchanges and deep political understanding.
  3. The bilateral trade between India and France during the period from April 2016 to March 2017 reached $10.95 billion.
  4. France is the ninth largest foreign investor in India with a cumulative investment of $6.09 billion from April 2000 to October 2017.
  5. Near about 1000 French companies are exist in India and About 120 Indian companies have invested in excess of 1 billion euros in France and employ almost 7000 people. The India-France CEO's Forum will also take place during the visit.
  6. The Indian community, together with Non-Residential Indians (NRIs) has around 1.1 lakh people on the soil of France.
  7. India-France ties marks the most important and comprehensive bilateral engagements with intense of frequently high-level exchanges and deep political understanding.
  8. Both sides will continue to augment with combine forces in the defense, maritime, space, security, and energy-related sectors.
  9. Bilateral talks between both nations will also focus on issues of major concerns such as terrorism, climate change, sustainable growth and development, infrastructure, smart urbanization, science and technology cooperation and youth exchanges.

    10. France played a significant role in India's succession to three of the four export control regimes such as the Missile Technology Control Regime, the Wassenaar Arrangement and the Australia Group and is candidly supports India's membership in the fourth, the Nuclear Suppliers Group.
