The Defence Minister of France's   Ms.Florence Parly informed that the country will begin airlifting French nationals from Kabul to a base in the UAE by Monday evening. The Defence Minister also informed that two military planes will be used for the evacuation and they will be reinforced by French soldiers who are stationed in the UAE, according to reports. "We are planning to carry out the first rotation between now and the end of this Monday," Parly said on France Info radio, adding there were several dozens of French citizens to be evacuated along "with people under our protection."

One day prior, the Secretary of State Antony Blinken also informed that the President has sent additional forces to ensure an orderly and safe evacuation of the US diplomatic presence in Kabul. In another development, at least three people lost their lives on Monday following gunfire at the passenger terminal of Kabul's international airport.

The Pentagon has said two battalions of Marines and one infantry battalion will arrive in Kabul by Sunday evening, involving about 3,000 troops. An infantry brigade combat team will also move out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to Kuwait to act as a quick reaction force for security in Kabul if needed, the Pentagon has said.
