THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the midst of Russia's military actions against Ukraine, India's government has begun organising evacuation flights for Indian nationals in the country. The expense of this evacuation will be entirely covered by the government.

On Saturday, the Kerala ambassador in Delhi, Venu Rajamony, a former diplomat, declared that all Keralites arriving from Ukraine would be provided with free travel facilities  from Delhi to Kerala.

Rajamony has also announced that when Kerala students arrive in Delhi, they will be accommodated until they are placed on a connecting flight to Kerala. According to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, there are 2,320 Kerala students in Ukraine awaiting their homecoming.

Two flights are arriving from Bucharest, Romania's capital, carrying Indians in Ukraine who have been ordered to reach to Bucharest, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. On Saturday, one flight arrives in Delhi at 2.10 p.m. and the other in Mumbai at 4 p.m.
