Madhya Pradesh is known as The heart of India due to its geographical position but the hearts of its people is also filled with love and sacrifice for the motherland. There are many freedom fighters from Madhya Pradesh who fought for bravely the Independence of India. On this Independence Day, we remember those freedom fighters who sacrifice their lives for the freedom of India.
1. Chandra Shekhar Azad
Chandra Shekhar Azad was on born in the Bhavara village of Madhya Pradesh. He fought against the Britishers and had become fatal for them. He was involved in the kakori Train Robbery of 1925 and he was also involved in an attempt to blow up the train of Viceroy of India. He had also shot the J.P Saunders at Lahore.
2. Rani Laxmi Bai
Although Rani Laxmibai was born in the town of Varanshi of UP after Rani Laxmi Bai fought for the Gwalior of MP along with Tatya Tope and other freedom fighters.
3. Tantia Tope
He was born in Shivpuri of Madhya Pradesh and was a general in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. he helped Rani LaxmiBai in fighting with the Britishers.
4. Tantia Bhil
Tantia Bhil was born in Khandwa District of MP who fought for the poor and humble people. He was a member of Bhil tribe who waged an armed struggle against the Britishers for many years and endeared himself to the masses by virtue of his indomitable courage to uproot the British rule.
5. Avanti Bai
Avanti Bai was the wife of King Vikramaditya Singh the king of Ramgarh. She waged a war against the Britishers to protect her Kingdom.
This Independence day we salute all the freedom fighters who contributed significantly to the freedom of India.
