Paris [France], May 30 (NT): Indian tennis ace Yuki Bhambri finished his  debut at the French Open  with a first round crush when he lost to 111th-ranked Belgian Ruben Bemelmans, 4-6,4-6, 1-6, in the men's singles match here on Monday.

On the other hand Rohan Bopanna and his French partner Edouard Roger-Vasselin commenced their Roland Garros campaign with an easy triumph over the American team in which Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe were partners. Bopanna and Roger-Vasselin won by 6-3, 6-1. Now they proceeded to the second round in the men's doubles match of the tournament.

Coming to men’s singles, Bemelman's strong and swift actions were too good for Bhambri and the former was dominated by his tremendous  game right away from the beginning and comfortably won.

The 25-year-old Bhambri  who was the lone Indian in the in the men's singles category of the tournament, had earlier qualified for the main draw of the Roland Garros for the first time after marking a win  over the Chinese Taipei Challenger title .With straight sets he won over compatriot Ramkumar Ramanathan.

Worth mention here Bhambri and Bemelmans had previously clashed each other only once in the soil of national capital in New Delhi Challenger tournament  in 2015 .Here the Indian eked out a thrilling three-set win over the Belgian.
